The short version: EmmeD collects no data. None.

EmmeD — Markdown Reader (“EmmeD”, “the app”) is a native macOS application developed by NimbusAI. This policy describes how the app handles your information.

Data we collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or usage data. EmmeD has:

No user accounts or sign-in
No analytics or telemetry
No advertising or third-party SDKs
No cloud services — the app works completely offline

Your documents

EmmeD runs inside the macOS App Sandbox and can only read files and folders you explicitly open — via the open panel, drag & drop, or Finder. The app stores security-scoped bookmarks locally on your Mac so that your Recents list and project sidebar keep working across launches. Your documents are never uploaded anywhere and never leave your Mac.

Network access

The app’s only network capability is used to display remote images (http/https) that are referenced inside your own Markdown documents. EmmeD makes no network connections of its own, and no information about you or your documents is sent to us or to anyone else.

Settings

Your preferences (fonts, colors, layout options, recent files) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS mechanisms and are never transmitted.

Children’s privacy

EmmeD collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of EmmeD ever changes how data is handled, we will update this page and note the change in the app’s release notes before the change takes effect.
